Mulberry (Morus)

A mulberry is a fast-growing deciduous tree (Morus) that produces sweet, elongated berries resembling blackberries. The ripe fruits are packed with Vitamin C and iron, and are delicious eaten fresh or used in jams.

Mulberry fruit changes from white/green to pink, and finally to deep purple-black when fully ripe. Because they bruise easily and have a very short shelf-life, they are rarely found in commercial grocery stores.
